“Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain.”

A typical monsoon landscape in western route train journeys

Another rainy day and experiencing the joys of getting drenched. There are times when you have to wait long (real long) for the rains to soak this semi-arid part of the country.  The rain God seems happy this year though!

September Delhi rains

I love the rains. The sight of Cumulonimbus, the first drops on grass, the fragrance in the air, the pitter-patter on roof tops, dancing peacocks, the slosh of puddles and if you are lucky enough, the rainbow!

Well, no luck yet with a good peacock picture, though I see them everyday!

They bring along a lot of freshness.  And a lot of snapshots from the past- making paper boats, nursery rhymes, dancing in rain, ‘joy rides’ along winding roads, ‘adrak’ chai, the ever humble Maggi, sitting by window side and reading your favourite book, or simply being by yourself.

Our very own Pune picnics on rainy days!
Everything around changes magically! It’s grey and dull yet so colourful in shades of green.

My favourite rain moments are many and come gushing with this monsoon! What are your memorable rain moments?

Birthdays!

Another year passes by, a fresh one is here.
New hopes, new aspirations, new dreams.
A thought in mind, a twinkle in the eye. Will I be able to do it?

Cross the limits and touch the sky,
Follow the dreams and unleash your power,
No boundaries await!

Life is bountiful! Just look around and find your share of it!
Brush aside the past and welcome the present.
Prepare for the time that is to come,
Shed the inhibitions and embrace your talents.
Polish and hone your skills.
Success awaits!

A thought in mind, a twinkle in the eye…I will be able to do it!

My first blog

Hi Friends!
I am finally here, with the much belated blog. It’s never too late to begin! And here I am on the perfect day, the first day of a new year of my Life.

So, let me boast about myself a bit—Geologist (for the uninitiated, Geology is the study of the Earth) by qualification and astronomer by passion. I enjoy travelling whenever I get a chance.  I love when life throws little surprises. I’m a hopeless dreamer.  I dream with my eyes open and practically each day I try to chase those dreams.  My first love (or loves) is the clear night sky with innumerable stars. It gives me an adrenaline rush literally! I like to work with my own pace in my own space.

Well well well, so this is going to be about me and myself, about people and places (more of places I assure), from the sky to the Earth (yes, I mean literally), of rocks and minerals, of likes and love!

Stay tuned for more!
